Help Teddy, Bear, and Bella: From Struggle to Survival

Teddy, Bear, and Bella’s story began in a neglected corner of our neighborhood, where their mother, a street dog owned by a careless neighbor, created a makeshift den under a water tank. We discovered them when their mother, who would come to our house looking for food, suddenly disappeared. Concerned, we went to find her and discovered her hiding with her newborn puppies, barely two weeks old at the time.

Over the next days, we brought food and water, as her owner wasn’t providing any, and the mother had no resources to keep her litter healthy. Sadly, the puppies were malnourished, and two had visible deformities. One day, we found one of the puppies outside the den, dehydrated and too weak to move. We did our best to help, but when we returned the next day, he had passed away. The guilt of not being able to save him weighed heavily on us, and we knew we couldn’t leave the others behind. Despite knowing they were still too young, we made the decision to rescue the remaining three: Teddy, Bear, and Bella.

The first few weeks were extremely hard. We were completely on our own, with no outside help or advice, and every day felt like a battle to keep them alive. Teddy, in particular, struggled to eat, and any food he managed to ingest would cause severe diarrhea. For days, his survival was uncertain. We spent many sleepless nights, never knowing if we would find them alive the next morning. It was a constant emotional weight, but we did everything we could, giving them electrolytes, honey water, and eventually puppy food when formula didn’t work.

Eventually, after they were somewhat out of danger but still struggling with diarrhea, we were able to get advice from a veterinarian. With that additional support, all three began to recover, and today, they are happy, energetic, and full of life. But their journey is far from over. They still require ongoing medical care, proper food, and attention to grow strong and healthy.

What we’ve done so far has been done entirely with our own resources, and it’s emotionally and financially draining. We aren’t looking for sympathy; we’ve chosen this path because we believe these animals deserve a chance. But the costs are real, as is the toll it takes to face situations like this every day—knowing there are countless more out there in need.

Your support helps us continue to care for Teddy, Bear, and Bella and rescue others in similar situations. Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a tangible difference in their lives and helps lighten the burden we carry as we do our best to protect and nurture these animals.
